About me
Hey there! I’m Helen and I am a home cook with a soft spot for cozy meals. I am a full-time believer that good food and small joys keep us healthy and my mission is to make healthy living feel easy and delicious. Growing up my family did not say “I love you”. was rarely spoken out loud. It was mainly shown through a warm meal waiting on the table or a plate of freshly cut fruit platter. My grandmother was always in the kitchen, standing beside soup pots that seemed bigger than I was, or cooking with the sturdy wok that carried us through my childhood, adolescence, and even my college years. She poured love into every dish she made, and through her, I learned that food was never just food, it was care, comfort, love, and family all gathered around the table.
Now, I’m here to share recipes, tips, and a little bit of everyday magic to help you nourish yourself and feel good, both inside and out.

EASY WEEKNIGHT MEALS
Tofu with soy sauce

Ingredients
– 1 pack of tofu (i like to use silken tofu or soft tofu for this recipe)

– 2 cloves of garlic
– Thin slice of ginger
– 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
– Scallions for garnish
– Sesame seeds for garnish

- Start by removing the tofu from its package, draining any excess liquid, and gently rinsing it under water.
- Cut tofu into slices (1 inch thickness) and put on a heatproof plate
- Steam tofu for 10 minutes. (For steaming, I heat up water in a wok and put a steam rack).
- While tofu is steaming, minced garlic and ginger and mix with soy and hoisin.
- After steaming the tofu, carefully drain any excess water.
- Pour the garlic soy mixture evenly over the tofu.
- Garnish with sesame oil, sesame seed, and scallions. Can add chili oil as well.
